About Cat

Ms. Cat started her dance journey at age 6 in Montreal. In Singapore, she trained in the RAD syllabus at the Yamaha Music School and Singapore Ballet Academy, and soon received a scholarship at the academy. At age 14, her passion and love of ballet blossomed under the tutelage of the directors of Singapore's national ballet company (Singapore Dance Theatre), who gave her the rare privilege to perform with the company and participate in weekly professional classes . Here she was able to learn leaps and bounds from professional dancers, directors, and internationally renowned choreographers and extraordinary guest dancers such as Goh Chan Hon. While still in high school, she was offered an apprenticeship with Singapore Dance Theatre and to tour internationally with the company.

Her dance career, however, was put on hold as her parents wanted her to focus her attention on university studies. But her passion for dance never waned and she pursued opportunities to dance whenever they arose. She squeezed in ballet classes at university while pursuing an Honours degree. While raising three children, she found opportunities to join adult ballet classes at classical ballet dance schools including her favourite - the National Ballet of Canada.

As a young adult, she met Jesus and discovered an even greater passion. Her love for Jesus led her to teaching Sunday school with the little ones in JK/SK and volunteering in VBS. Her passion and love for Jesus and dance finally crossed paths when she was homeschooling her youngest child. There she found great joy in choreographing and teaching young children to dance with a heart of worship to the Lord.

She is now excited to be invited to share her love of Jesus, dance and nurturing little children at SDG.
