Christian Dance Teacher and Director
Teaching dance at SDG is more than just a job — it’s a calling.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to pour into young dancers not only through teaching excellence in dance, but even more, through mentorship, discipleship, and a shared love for Christ. Use your passion for dance to glorify God and make an eternal impact in the lives of students who are growing both artistically and spiritually. As the Christian Dance Teacher/Director, you’ll have the opportunity to use your gifts to both instruct and inspire. You’ll mentor young dancers not only in skill and discipline, but also in faith and identity in Christ. This is a role where movement becomes worship and teaching becomes eternal impact.
• Teach dance classes in your area(s) of expertise
• Ballet and Pointe (primarily)
• Jazz
• Contemporary
• Lyrical
• Hip-hop
• Create and implement lesson plans and curricula that reflect both artistic excellence and Christ-centered values
• Encourage and mentor students in their personal, artistic, and spiritual growth
• Participate in performances, recitals, or ministry events as part of the SDG community
• Direct and collaborate with fellow teachers and leadership to foster a supportive, Christ-centered environment
• Model a lifestyle that reflects Christ both inside and outside the studio
• Be engaged in speaking with parents about their students and progress or challenges
• Fill out progress reports on each student
• A heart for ministry and a desire to use dance to glorify God
• Previous dance training and teaching experience
• A mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Active participation in a local church community
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a nurturing spirit
• Commitment to excellence, creativity, and Christ-like character
• Experience in choreography
(Bonus: Experience in youth ministry, or performing arts education is an asset.)
